Alastair Farr

Alastair Farr is a Senior Managing Director and Head of EMEA Construction, Projects and Assets, with teams in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, the EMEA practice has a strategic alliance in the Netherlands, Belgium and Brazil.

Mr. Farr has more than 35 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries across a wide range of sectors, including waste-to-energy/biomass, power generation (including nuclear, wind, hydro, solar, coal and gas), offshore and onshore oil and gas, shipbuilding, subsea, civil engineering, building, water, mining and rail and roads.

Mr. Farr is an experienced testifying quantum and delay expert on matters including loss and expense/additional costs/damages, disputed variations, delay and extensions of time. He has acted as an expert witness in international and domestic arbitration and litigation and testified in International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), Asian International Arbitration Center (“AIAC”), formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (“KLRCA”), and London Court of International Arbitrations (“LCIA”) arbitrations, as well as in UK litigation in the Technology and Construction Court as a CPR35 Expert. He has also been appointed and testified in adjudication proceedings and delivered reports and presented in high-value Dispute Adjudication Board (“DAB”) proceedings. He is recognised in Who’s Who Legal as a leading expert witness.

Mr. Farr also provides advisory services and has experience in most forms of procurement, including engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”), traditional, lump sum, reimbursable, target cost and public-private partnership (“PPP”).
