Ashalata Shettigar

Ashalata Shettigar supports the Real Estate industry practice and has close to 20 years of public accounting experience. Ms. Shettigar specializes in tax consulting and compliance services to various U.S. private equity funds, real estate companies, real estate opportunity funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and various offshore funds, including due diligence assignments.

Ms. Shettigar also specializes in the international tax area involving cross-border transactions, including Passive Foreign Investment Company (“PFIC”) analysis, Section 987 computations for foreign branches, Earnings and Profits studies, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”) and other international tax compliance. She also works with foreign hedge funds, venture capital funds and debt funds, assisting them with U.S. tax consulting and compliance work.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Shettigar was an assistant manager at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, India in its financial services industry practice within the tax advisory group. She worked on international taxation, advising private equity funds and other clients on tax structuring of inbound and outbound cross-border transactions, other tax consulting and tax compliance assignments.

Ms. Shettigar is passionate about diversity at her workplace and leads FTI Consulting’s diversity initiative for her local office in Roseland, New Jersey.
