About Bruce
Bruce Schonbraun specializes in providing counsel on strategic real estate matters, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, real estate investment trust ("REIT") transactions and capital markets transactions. Mr. Schonbraun has more than 35 years of experience in real estate and is a nationally recognized real estate leader and business advisor to the public and private real estate sectors. He was the founder of The Schonbraun McCann Group ("SMG"), which was acquired by FTI Consulting in 2008. Prior to founding SMG, Mr. Schonbraun was associated with Price Waterhouse & Co.
Mr. Schonbraun has authored numerous articles and is a much sought-after resource to the press on a wide variety of real estate matters related to capital markets, finance, strategic business planning and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Schonbraun has instructed at both the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and the Graduate School of Business at Seton Hall University on subjects related to real estate merger and acquisition strategies and federal taxation of real estate transactions.
A member of the board of various charities and community groups, Mr. Schonbraun is the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey and was recently recognized as a Distinguished Trustee at the United Hospital Fund's 2018 Tribute to Hospital and Health Care Trustees. He is a member of many professional organizations including the Zell-Lurie Real Estate Institute at Wharton, where he has served as a mentor in the Wharton Real Estate M.B.A. program.
Mr. Schonbraun was recognized with the Industry Service Award, by NAIOP in 2001, as well as the Torch of Learning Award, by the Lautenberg Cancer Research Center at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, presented by President Clinton the same year.
