Dispute Advisory & International Arbitration
How we can help
Companies and sovereign states frequently face domestic or international disputes. The growing complexity of legal and economic regulations and higher volumes of international trade lead to more disputes, with increasing value at stake.
More than ever, it is critical to present decision-makers, such as courts or arbitration tribunals, with clear, objective and robust analyses. This improves the chances of obtaining full compensation where breaches of contracts, regulations or treaties are alleged to have caused damages.
Our Litigation & International Arbitration team specialises in providing sophisticated yet easy-to-understand analyses to help parties and tribunals appreciate critical economic and financial issues relevant to a dispute, as well as to assess the damages incurred by the aggrieved party in an objective manner. Our team comprises experts in valuation and accounting, all of whom have substantial experience of assessing damages in court or arbitration proceedings.
How We Help
Access to accurate information, verified and analysed by independent experts, is a key success factor in dispute proceedings. Our professionals – including financial analysts, accountants and economists – support clients and their lawyers in meeting the complex challenges that inevitably arise in legal or arbitration proceedings.
Our team gets involved in quantifying economic losses and, more generally, in analysing economic issues relevant to disputes. We work closely with clients and their lawyers to provide robust and independent opinions on the questions under consideration. Our team includes industry specialists who can bring additional insight into the most complex matters.
We support our clients at all stages of the litigation process, from pre-litigation discussion to drafting reports. Our experts are experienced in writing reports for tribunals, presenting their analyses orally before arbitration tribunals and defending their conclusions during cross-examination.
The experience and quality of our experts are recognised by courts, arbitrators, lawyers, and our clients. Further recognition comes from publications such as Who’s Who Legal, which consistently ranks FTI Consulting as the leading firm in the provision of expert evidence in international arbitration proceedings.
