Ivana Jemelkova is a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting and a senior member of the firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice. Born and raised in the Czech Republic, Ms. Jemelkova spent almost a decade working as a European Union policy expert in Brussels before moving to the U.S. in 2017. She is currently based in Washington, DC and operating internationally.
Ms. Jemelkova’s extensive clean energy expertise combined with vast global networks has positioned her as a sought-after advisor to leading tech firms, infrastructure funds, and corporations in the energy, transport and industrials space. Recognized among #TE100 Women of the Energy Transition, she supports high-profile clients on complex, multi-jurisdiction policy and communications issues as they work towards net-zero. In addition to her experience in the international climate arena, she brings to the table deep knowledge of hydrogen technologies stemming from a decade-long engagement with the sector in Europe and globally. Among other, Ms. Jemelkova helped build the Hydrogen Council, a global CEO coalition, which launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and she worked with the Council’s international team and 100+ members based in EMEA, Americas and APAC to engage key policy stakeholders, investors and civil society. The Council’s activities included CEO-level engagements at the G20 Summit in Japan, New York Climate Week, the COP Climate Conference and a 400+ public-private stakeholder forum held in Beijing, China.
Prior to moving to the U.S., Ms. Jemelkova worked in the Brussels office of FTI Consulting, coordinating the European head office of an industry group with 100+ members from 20 countries and collaborating with corporate and association clients on E.U. policy strategies and campaigns. Named among “Rising Stars” at the European Public Affairs Awards, she also helped her clients renew and strengthen a European 1+ billion EUR public-private partnership for innovative technologies.
Ms. Jemelkova holds degrees in European Studies and International Relations from the Charles University in Prague. Her previous professional experience includes the European Commission, the Czech Business Representation to the European Union and a leading foreign policy think-tank based in Prague, Czech Republic.
While in the U.S., she earned Yale University’s Certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy and completed prestigious fellowships with the Clean Energy Leadership Institute (CELI) and Securing America’s Energy Future (SAFE). She is a frequent public speaker and recognized issue expert in clean energy.
