John B. Balce

John B. Balce is an Affiliate in the Corporate Finance practice of FTI Consulting Philippines, Inc., and is based in Manila.

Mr. Balce has extensive experience in transaction advisory, corporate and debt restructuring, valuations, mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, financial modelling and review, and project finance advisory. He has assisted in several cross-border engagements in the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore. He has been involved in projects across a range of industries, including energy, infrastructure, real estate, banking, outsourcing, electronics, mining, and manufacturing.

Among Mr. Balce's various assignments, Mr. Balce has been involved in the successful sale of a copper and zinc mine owned by an ASX-listed company undergoing provisional liquidation proceedings. He also spearheaded the team which assisted a Singapore-based hedge fund in the reorganization and sale of its stake in the Philippines’ second largest bio-diesel producer. He also assisted in the disposal of several NPL portfolios owned by local and foreign banks to investors, both on sell-side and buy-side capacities.

Mr. Balce engagements also include the preparation of financial models for PPP projects in the infrastructure, transportation and payment systems. He has also prepared financial models for renewable energy companies, bio fuel companies, toll roads, water districts, schools and shipping companies.

Mr. Balce received his Executive Masters in Business Administration degree from the Asian Institute of Management, with honors. He finished the bachelor’s degree in business administration and accountancy from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, magna cum laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a CFA charter holder. He is a member of the CFA Society of the Philippines, the CFA Institute, and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
