Lisa O'Connor, MS, BSN, RN

Lisa O’Connor has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She has operational, human resources and performance improvement consulting experience which includes, but is not limited to: operational strategy, executive leadership and governance, labor productivity management within a unionized environment, clinical quality improvement, strategic pharmacy design, risk management, operations, disaster preparedness, supply chain, physician relationships, negotiation, regulatory compliance, executive recruitment and other key executive leadership responsibilities.

Ms. O’Connor has been successful in partnering with clients to drive clinical quality, mitigate risk and improve performance in challenging environments, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. She leads large and small-scale projects in academic and non-academic healthcare settings, partnering with her clients to achieve their desired results. She is an experienced leadership mentor and advisor, with extensive experience leading through challenging times. Most recently, she provided direct surge and planning support to clients during the COVID-19 crisis.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. O’Connor was the Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Officer at Boston Medical Center, where she was responsible for both day-to-day operations and clinical strategic planning for the health system, one the most successful public/private mergers in the country. She served as the Incident Commander during the Boston Marathon bombings and has been recognized by several Boston-based organizations for her leadership under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.

Ms. O’Connor has been appointed to the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, also serving as the Chair of the Licensing Committee, and she is the Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Health Leads Advisory Council. She also actively volunteers for the Metro East Medical Reserve Corps. Ms. O’Connor has a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and was a 2009 Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow.

Ms. O’Connor received her B.S.N. from Salem State College and her M.S. in Management from Lesley University.
