Mark Bezant leads the EMEA and Asia Pacific (APAC) Economic & Financial Consulting group. Mark has over 35 years of analysing and valuing businesses, companies, listed and unlisted securities, intellectual property and intangible assets. He has acted in many contexts: mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, regulatory compliance and corporate governance (including fairness opinions), financial reporting, tax planning, expert determination and dispute resolution.
Mark’s experience covers matters before the English High Court, the Patents Court, Chancery Division, Queen’s Bench Division, the Restrictive Practices Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the Family Division, the Copyright Tribunal, the Special Commissioners for Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, the Lands Tribunal, the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. He has also acted in matters before the Royal Court of Jersey, The Royal Court of Guernsey, the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (“BVI”), the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands, the Supreme Court of Bermuda, the Supreme Court of the State of New York, various courts in Germany, the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, the High Court of Hong Kong, the District Court of the Hague, and the European Court and Commission.
Mark has acted in arbitrations before the Permanent Court of Arbitration (“PCA”) in The Hague, International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”), London Court of Arbitration (“LCIA”), Dubai International Financial Centre (“DIFC”), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (“HKIAC”), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (“SCC”), Swiss Arbitration Centre (“SAC”), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (“SIAC”), German Arbitration Institute (“DIS”), Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (“JCAA”), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (“ICSID”), Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (“CEPANI”), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (“UNCITRAL”) and other arbitration forums. Additionally, he has been involved in mediations under the World Intellectual Property Organisation (“WIPO”)’s jurisdiction. Mark has carried out well over 550 substantive valuations in his career, on both contentious and non-contentious matters, and has been appointed as an expert witness or independent expert on more than 375 occasions, to assess damages, valuation or accounting issues. He has given oral evidence on around 80 occasions.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mark was the European managing director of the finance and accounting services division at LECG. He was also formerly a partner in the valuation team of Deloitte’s corporate finance practice and the partner-in-charge of the UK economic and financial consulting practice of Arthur Andersen.
Mark is one of the leading valuation and damages experts identified by Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2011 to 2023 inclusive and is one of the leading practitioners globally. From 2010 to 2016, Mark was a board director for Stelara NV, a Belgian holding company for the Truvo group of companies, which operated leading directories, search and advertising businesses, and had annual revenues of around €90 million. Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Practising Member of the Academy of Experts and a member of the Licensing Executives Society. He was the founding chair of the Valuation Community of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a position he held from 2007 to 2016. He holds an M.A. in Chemistry from Oxford University.
