Omar Aguilar

Omar Aguilar is a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, where he co-leads the Enterprise Transformation practice and leads the Energy & Industrials Business Transformation practice. Mr. Aguilar focuses on providing broad and rapid enterprise transformation efforts to organizations and innovative and lasting solutions to clients at the CEO and board levels, in the U.S. and globally, when their more important issues are at stake. Mr. Aguilar’s areas of expertise include strategic cost transformation, margin improvement, restructuring, turnarounds, disruptive cost strategies, broad enterprise transformations and business model transformation enabled by “save-to-turnaround,” “save-to-grow” and “save-to-transform” strategies to achieve sustainable results.

A renowned cost management and enterprise transformation expert, Mr. Aguilar has published widely on the topic of sustainable and scalable cost management and has been quoted by or has written for Business Strategic Finance, The Journal of Cost Management and The Wall Street Journal, among others. He is a frequent outside speaker and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business.

Prior to FTI Consulting, Mr. Aguilar was a Senior Partner at Deloitte for 17 years, where he most recently served as the global leader of the Strategic Cost Transformation practice, which offersservices in more than 32 countries around the world.Prevously at Deloitte, he served as America’s Regional Strategy & Operations Leader, where he worked with global and multilatina companies in Latin America. Following the acquisition of the Monitor Group, he served as Managing Partner for Monitor Deloitte Brasil in São Paulo. Mr. Aguilar joined Deloitte in 2004 following its acquisition of Gunn Partners, where he served as Managing Director. Gunn Partners was a specialized consultancy focused on organizational strategy and business transformation, leveraging its unique “lean consulting” philosophy to implement sustainable client results.

Prior to consulting, Mr. Aguilar, who is a licensed professional nuclear engineer, spent 10 years at American Electric Power (AEP), a leading energy company, where he held engineering and management positions in AEP’s Nuclear Generation Group.
