Peter Schablik

Peter Schablik is a Managing Director with the Global Insurance Services practice. He is an experienced business consulting professional with more than 30 years of experience in public and industry accounting with an extensive background in project management, relationship management and business development. Mr. Schablik has had success in establishing and leading a risk consulting practice for IT, M&A, SSAE 18 and other engagements.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Schablik was a Partner and banking practice leader with Mazars USA responsible for internal audit engagements in the Northeast, Southeast and Western regions. Mr. Schablik has led banking outsourced and co-sourced internal audits and initiatives related to the Bank Secrecy Act (“BSA”), consumer compliance, cybersecurity, data analytics, fintech and Systems and Organizational Controls (“SOC”) reporting.

Before Mazars, Mr. Schablik was a Partner with CohnReznick where he established the New England Business Advisory services practice focused on internal audit, IT audit, Sarbanes Oxley and SSAE 18 services. Additionally, Mr. Schablik led industry engagements for system selection and process improvement for the Community Banking, Affordable Housing and Commercial Real Estate industries.

Earlier in Mr. Schablik's career, he was a partner with Grant Thornton and Arthur Andersen. During his time with these firms, he established and led practices, developed internal audit processes and services, established engagement quality standards and training and was responsible for growing both practices in terms of net fees and expanded services. As a Partner with these firms, Mr. Schablik worked with significant clients including C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., General Dynamics, John Hancock Advisers, Texaco and Lucent Technologies.

Mr. Schablik is a Certified Public Account (“CPA”) and a Certified Information System Auditor (“CISA”). He obtained his M.A.–M.B.A., Management and Information Systems (“MIS”) and B.B.A. Accounting degrees from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He has been a public speaker at Bank Directors, New York State Society of CPAs (“NYSSCPA”) and several chapters of the Institute for Internal Auditors (“IIA”).
