Phil Brady

Phil Brady specializes in tax consulting, structuring and compliance services to a broad range of real estate clients, including real estate investment trusts (REITs) and mortgage REITs. He plays a leadership role in the firm's Business Tax Advisory Group.

Mr. Brady provides M&A tax structuring and tax transactional services for REITs, Private Equity Funds and Family Offices on acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations, and distressed debt workouts. Services rendered include tax-efficient acquisition & disposition structuring.

Mr. Brady also provides litigation support services relating to income tax reporting, income tax accounting and other investigative expertise to legal counsel in both litigation and arbitration matters. Mr. Brady has provided tax advice and case support in matters involving purchase price allocation issues, shareholder disputes, accountant malpractice and partner buy-out disputes. He has played a key role in supporting and developing expert testimony reports.

Mr. Brady was previously a Tax Partner in the Financial Services Industry Group at Deloitte's New York office where he specialized in the real estate, private equity, securities and banking industries working with public companies, buyout/opportunity funds, broker-dealers and other financial services firms. Mr. Brady also previously served as Chief Financial Officer/Tax Director of a privately-held real estate development and investment firm in South Florida.
