Tara Singh, CPA, CBV, CFE

Tara Singh is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting based in Toronto and leads the Canadian Valuation & Damages practice. For more than 15 years, Tara has specialized in the assessment of economic damages and the valuation of businesses and other assets, particularly in the context of complex commercial litigation, including breach of contract matters, intellectual property and securities fraud litigation, class actions and other financial disputes.

Tara has testified as an expert witness and has prepared numerous expert and valuation reports for submission to Canadian, U.S. and international courts and arbitral panels. Her casework has covered a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, real estate, energy, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, financial services and construction.

Tara is a contributor to the academic and professional communities. She has taught courses in the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (“CICBV”) program in the areas of disputes, loss quantification issues and business valuation. She has also served on the Publications Committee of the CICBV, tasked with developing valuation-related thought leadership.

Tara was recognized as a Future Leader in the Who's Who Legal: Arbitration Expert Witness 2022. She was a winner of the CICBV Ian R. Campbell Research Initiative and received global recognition for the resultant research paper on blockchain and crypto assets.

• Quantified economic losses arising from the alleged improper distributions to shareholders of a CAD500 million Canadian plastics design and manufacturing firm
• Quantified economic losses of a pharmaceutical company resulting from the alleged infringement of its patent in a multibillion market
• Valued an agreement for clinical-stage biotechnology licensed by a publicly-traded Norwegian company involved in commercial arbitration
