Thea Utoft Høj Jensen

Thea is a Managing Director and head of the Financial Services Public Affairs team within the Strategic Communications practice, based in Brussels.

The Brussels Financial Services Public Affairs team supports a wide range of clients, including Vanguard, MasterCard, Deutsche Börse, Bank of New York Mellon, Citadel and Schroders. In addition to working with the European Union institutions and wider EU stakeholders, the team supports clients in dealings with the European Supervisory Authorities (ESMA, EBA and EIOPA) and national financial supervisors within the European Member States.

Thea is the former Financial Services Counsellor for the Danish Permanent Representation to the European Union. As part of her function, she led Council negotiations at the attaché level at the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN).

Thea was an advisor with the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs on the development of EU policy strategy and Denmark’s coordination with other Member States.

Prior to this, in 2013-2016, Thea was a Special Advisor on EU affairs to the Danish financial regulator, the DKFSA. In this role, she represented Denmark’s interests in the Council negotiation of Bank Structural Reform, the Money Market Funds regulation and the Shareholder Rights Directive.

Between 2011 and 2013, Thea was a seconded Policy Officer at the European Commission specialising in Company Law and Corporate Governance.

Thea holds an M.A. and B.A. in Law from the University of Copenhagen.
