About Tim
Tim Schleeter specializes in working with clients’ C-suite and executive teams to set strategic direction and lead initiatives that improve performance, operational efficiencies and market share. Mr. Schleeter has close to 20 years of experience working with global retailers and consumer products companies, acting as a strategic advisor and consultant as well as serving in interim management positions.
Mr. Schleeter has worked with a wide range of retailers and direct selling companies, including specialty, big box, department store, fashion, fast fashion, luxury, off-price, beauty, grocery and vertically-integrated retailers. Mr. Schleeter’s expertise also includes growth and brand strategy, merchandising, private label, product development, planning, operating model design, supply chain, sourcing and zero-based organization.
Select client examples of Mr. Schleeter’s experience include leading an enterprise wide productivity and cost optimization for a large Specialty Retailer which removed over $60M in cost. Impact areas focused on merchandising, private label and direct sourcing, store labor as well as supply chain and distribution. He also led a strategy program for Joe Fresh, which reduced time to market by three months, increased on-time deliveries by 25% and increased sales, margin and turnover. He also led a global operating model definition for Link Theory US, which doubled their sales volume and expanded their retail channel and brands into Europe and Japan. Mr. Schleeter served as the VP of Product Development and Production for Link Theory, overseeing three U.S. brands where he redesigned the product development and production processes and created a strategic planning department.
In addition, Mr. Schleeter led a strategic program for Nike, which standardized product data across footwear, apparel and equipment and reduced their product development process by two months and developed the three-year roadmap to enable revenue growth. He also redesigned and ran the planning and replenishment functions for a $1 billion business unit for a North American grocer, which realized service levels increases of 16% while also reducing inventory by 10%; led a strategy program to enable tripling of Ross Stores Direct Imports Group; and led an integrated planning project for a luxury manufacturer to combine wholesale and retail channels by developing a new operating model and optimizing capabilities across planning, forecasting and supply chain.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Schleeter worked at Accenture, where he led their Private Brands practice. Mr. Schleeter has also held management positions at two e-commerce companies, iTrade Network and Ourhouse.com.
